Modelling
If we imagine we could spend some time with Henry Hudson now, what kind of excellence model could he be for us? What could he tell us then about the effects of his journey? And what kind of perspective would he see?
That, after 400 years, there is a tech valley in Albany. That New York is an island at the center of the world. That we celebrate his discovery every 100 years. That there is The Atlantic World: a bilingual, multi-format English-Dutch digital library. That the Hudson River is a corridor of commerce with the values of freedom and dignity, and nature and culture.
Modelling is a Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) process for accelerated learning. How can we learn from another person or from ourselves? How can we model the talents we, and the people around us, have and build a desired, sustainable future?
Human talent and a proof of civilization is the competence to create one’s life. With a choice as to where, how, and with whom we want to do that.
Let’s identify our excellence. Which experience do we have with elegance, minimal effort and congruence in our life and work? What are our movements, our images, voices, words and feelings in this context? What can we learn from this experience? And how can we use this to make the first step towards a better future?
When you ask yourself the questions about your excellence, what would be your answers?
When you model your organization, in what fields could you find excellence?
