A convenient truth
A celebration can be a moment to design the desired future. We can use our consciousness and the lessons we have learned from our past and present to shape a convenient truth for the future.
Convenient means that we feel comfortable and easy with what’s happening and coming.
The late American professor Julian Simon in economy found by research that nature has such a strong power of itself to make things better. His statement is that life on earth is going to become more and more pleasant. The environment will get cleaner, the hunger in the world decreases, the life expectancy increases, we become richer.
The economic policy deployment, the possibility of free trade, the culture and education are of decisive influence regarding a country’s prosperity.
Untill now, we have been successful in finding creative solutions for raw materials shortages.
The Dutch professor in applied geology Salomon Kroonenberg says we have to think in climate cycles of 50.000 years and that we are now in the autumn period preceding the next ice age.
What can we do with this knowledge? Imagine New Netherland in 400 years. The Sustainable Hudson Valley Organization for example does “strategic planning for the long term devoted to sustainable development that builds and shares wealth, restores the environment and contributes positively to communities. Our vision is a creative economy that brings together science and technology, the arts, Main Street renewal and local entrepreneurship to create prosperous communities in a restored environment. Our mission is to build a creative, green economy that helps communities protect and restore their environments.”
What is your vision and mission for a convenient truth?
How does this optimistic view influence you in your strategic planning for the long-term?
