Black page and bright side

Besides of all the good things, the Americans and Dutch also share a history of black pages.
The Dutch are known for their trading African people as slaves to the United States.
Before that the Dutch settlers changed their good relationship with the Natives when the Dutch traders discovered that alcohol caused the tribes to accept lower prices for their furs. Within some tribes the use of alcohol became a devastating phenomenon.
A long history of destroying an original population and the exploitation and discrimination of the black Americans started.
But out of the dark we come to the bright side. Out of an economical need America is open to large groups of people from all over the world. It looks as if the US invites and inspires people to find the trust in themselves: I will find my way. They are willing to make a lot of working hours. They have two, sometimes three jobs. They are determined to make a new life for themselves. They give colour to the country and show great working power.
